GEOBOARD
The geoboard is a didactic resource for the introduction of a large part of geometric figures. The manipulative nature of this allows children a greater understanding of a whole series of abstract terms, which often either do not understand or generate misconceptions about them. It consists of a square board, usually made of wood, which has been squared and a nail has been inserted in each vertex in such a way that they protrude from the surface of the wood by 2cm. The size of the board is variable and is determined by a number of grids; these can vary from 25 (5 x 5) to 100 (10 x 10). On the base elastic bands of colors are placed that are fastened on the nails forming the geometric gums that are desired. == Its name means plane of geometry, since the heads of the nails belong to the same plane. The size of the geoplane is variable, depending on whether it is used individually, in groups or by the teacher for the whole class. With the geoplano you can form geometric shapes using rubber bands; establish similarities and differences between parallelism and perpendicularity; use a graphic-algebraic language. In addition, it offers the opportunity for the student to study and discover the surface-volume relationship, to deepen and understand the concepts of areas and geometrical planes, and to associate contents of geometry with algebra and calculus. This cognitive construction is produced in a creative way by means of group activities, in which questions directed by the teacher are presented, in order to help them to construct their answers, and at the same time to get the student to formulate his own questions, allowing him to create his own conjectures about some mathematical concept, thus favoring the optimization of significant learning processes and the development of complex cognitive abilities.
CLAY
Plasticine is a material that can give a lot of play to teachers, since they can use it in any subject in the way they want. In geometry it can be used to create geometrical shapes, either with this material alone or by combining it with other materials
