A mosaic is a pictorial work made of small pieces of stone, ceramic or glass of different shapes and colors, called tesserae, joined by plaster or another binder to form decorative geometric, figurative or abstract compositions.
Mosaics can be made with different materials, and it is a great idea that children can create it with all that they think appropriate (papers, colours, pencils, cartoon...). Students can work geometric figures by creating the most original and creative mosaics. The teacher can tell some rules, for example, to create a mosaic only with some specific figures, so pupils have to recognize what geometric figures the teacher is asking for. In this way, they will enjoy while learning the different forms.
